The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB, including children moving over from private primary or secondary schools. To round off our orientation day for new families to Southbank on Wednesday, #Humanities teacher Mr Julian Barnett gave one of his infamous London #History Tours!
Parents and students were shown around the area of #London around our #Westminster campus and learnt interesting facts about the history.
On #Fitzroy Square, just in front of our Conway Street site, families were shown where Picasso and his brother squatted before #Picasso became a famous #artist. They were told interesting facts on how the houses in the area used to get their coal delivered (the small rounded drain-looking things in the ground used to open for the coal to be poured down there). And did you know that Park Crescent was meant to be a full circle, almost like a circus, but they unfortunately ran out of budget and had to keep it as a crescent?!
We hope all of our students enjoyed their first few days back to school, and we wish them a restful weekend before their adventure begins on Discovery Week next week!

Yesterday was orientation day, the day we welcome new families starting this academic year to Southbank!
To mark the occasion, and welcome our new families to Southbank Westminster, our marvellous #Westminster PTA put on a very special and delicious Ice cream social on Fitzroy Sq Garden, in front of our Conway St building. It was a lovely social occasion where students, parents and staff had the opportunity to get to know each other.
Today marks the first day of school, where we welcome back all of our students, old and new. We`re so pleased to be back to school, and wish all our students a fantastic first term!

A huge well done to the Southbank Law Society, who, after winning in the London Independent School Mock Trial competition, they were invited to participate in the national competition on June 29th at the Old Bailey.
It was a great experience to be trying their cases with the top independent school teams from around England. Though they did not win this time, the team received very positive feedback from the judges who noted the fluency and confidence displayed by the Southbank team in discussing our cases. Bravo team Southbank! 👏🫶

Following on from our post at the end of last week congratulating our class of 2024 on their fantastic IB Diploma results, we are delighted to share details of the results with you.
All 86 students who were entered to take the full DP passed, giving Southbank students a remarkable 100% pass rate, something we are extremely proud of. Here is a summary of the results:
- 21 students obtained the bilingual Diploma, which represents 24.41% of the cohort
- 18 students obtained 40+, which represents 20.9% of the cohort
- 69.8% of the cohort achieved 35+
- 86% achieved above the world average (30.32)
- Our average is 36.0
Furthermore, a fantastic 71.4% of students achieved their firm offers and 16.1% their insurance choices for their university/college (subject to change).
