The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB, including children moving over from private primary or secondary schools. The IB aims to do more than other curricula. It builds students critical thinking skills, nurtures their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.
Through a commitment to academic excellence and a uniquely liberal ethos, the IB also develops students with an inner belief in themselves. Southbank students have an openness to the outside world and a desire to give back to communities on a local, national and global level.

We are proud to share the exceptional results of our graduating Class of 2025 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
This year, 75 students completed the full Diploma. Their results reflect the hard work, intellectual ambition, and commitment that characterise a Southbank education.
These outcomes place Southbank among the leading IB schools globally. Just as importantly, they reflect the strength of our inclusive, student-centred approach - where academic achievement is balanced with critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness.
We congratulate all our students and thank our dedicated teachers, staff, and families for their continued support.
Key Highlights:
Average diploma score of 35.7 points, compared to the global average of 30.58
Over 25% of our students achieved 40 points or higher demonstrating our academic excellence
Three students scored 44 out of a possible 45 points, an exceptional accomplishment
Mean subject grade of 5.6, outperforming the global average of 4.89

This term, our young environmentalists at our Hampstead campus have been busy exploring how to care for the world around them.
From observing caterpillars and creating detailed drawings, to researching rainforests and transforming a corner of their classroom into a lush jungle—these curious minds have been leading their own learning with care and creativity.
They’ve also set class agreements to protect living things, nurtured plants, and helped mini-beasts in the garden. A highlight was visiting the London Zoo, where they learned how pollution harms wildlife. Inspired by what they saw, EC4 teamed up with Grade 3 for a forest clean-up, putting their learning into real-world action! 🌍💚

👏 A huge congratulations to Mr. Zach Fihosy, our brilliant DT teacher, who completed the London Marathon this year — and what a journey it was!
Running through the streets of his home city, Mr. Fihosy described the experience as “indescribable,” with phenomenal support and energy from friends, family, and the Southbank community helping him push through the toughest moments.
Even more inspiring, he ran in support of @CureEBorg, raising an incredible £1,551 to help fund vital research into finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare skin condition.
We’re so proud of his achievement, determination, and commitment to such a meaningful cause. 🏅💙
