The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is enjoyed by both international learners and those who have not previously studied the IB, including children moving over from private primary or secondary schools. The IB aims to do more than other curricula. It builds students critical thinking skills, nurtures their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.
Through a commitment to academic excellence and a uniquely liberal ethos, the IB also develops students with an inner belief in themselves. Southbank students have an openness to the outside world and a desire to give back to communities on a local, national and global level.

100% Pass Rate For The IB Diploma
We are delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our students in the IBDP results.
Out of the 86 diploma students who participated, one of our biggest cohorts to date, 100% successfully passed and 86% scored higher than the world average (30.32), our Southbank average is 36. This is a remarkable feat and something we are extremely proud of.
*A score of 34-37 in the IB is roughly equivalent to AAA at A-Level. These comparisons are approximations and can vary by subject and university.

On the evening of Wednesday, March 19th, our Grade 12 Visual Arts students showcased their incredible work at a special exhibition, celebrating over a year of dedication and artistic exploration. This highlight of the IB Diploma program allowed students to present their unique creations in painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and more — each piece a reflection of their growth as artists.
The exhibition was a proud moment for students, teachers, and families alike, marking a significant milestone and accounting for 40% of their overall grade in the Visual Arts course.
To top it off, we`re thrilled to share that five students have earned spots at prestigious London art schools, with one student also securing a place to study Architecture! These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of our talented young artists. We can`t wait to see where their artistic journeys take them next!

March was a blast at Southbank with an action-packed Science Week at our #Westminster campus! Each day brought something new to spark curiosity and creativity:
Monday: Students built mini ecosystems to test how long they could keep them thriving, inspired by the longest recorded mesocosm, which has survived an incredible 64 years!
Tuesday: Chemistry got colourful with explosive reactions in our “Whizz, Bang, and Pop” workshop. A fun, hands-on way to explore science!
Wednesday: Creativity and teamwork took over as students built LEGO masterpieces using only verbal descriptions—no bricks left unturned!
Thursday: Art and science collided as students used magnetism to create unique artwork. Physics + creativity = stunning results!
Friday: The grand finale was a heart dissection! Students explored anatomy up close, learning about this vital organ in an unforgettable way.
What an exciting week of hands-on learning and discovery! Big thanks to all who participated—can’t wait for the next scientific adventure!
